A transformational impact
Bowls and BBQ has raised $44,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters
Since we began, Bowls & BBQ has raised $44,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Every dollar has stayed in the local community, helping to build brighter futures for Aotearoa’s young people.
Big Brothers Big Sisters matches tamariki aged 6–12 with caring adult mentors who meet with them once a week. These professionally-supported friendships provide stability, encouragement, and a trusted role model — someone in their corner as they grow, learn, and dream bigger.
No one can speak to the importance of their programme better than those who have been involved first-hand …
"Daniel has increased his confidence and his relationships have improved. He is exposed to more life experiences and has an increased life knowledge. He is very happy and we are very grateful for the programme"
- Big Brothers Big Sisters parent
"I get out and try new things. I now have someone to hang out with and someone to talk to"
- Big Brothers Big Sisters mentee
"As I go through life, very few things will be rewarding and fulfilling as being a mentor for a boy who needs one. Tristian has become one of the most important people in my life. I carry a key ring he gave me inside my police body armour, it says 'Tristian & Tim Best Friends Forever'. It sums it up nicely"
- Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor
Every $1 invested in Big Brothers Big Sisters generates $18 in social return on investment.
To date, Dimple Digital's Bowls and BBQ events have raised over $44,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters. That's a $792,000 impact!

How Bowls & BBQ came to be
Bowls & BBQ was conceptualised by David Remmerswaal, founder of Dimple Digital.
David was one of the first mentors with Big Brothers Big Sisters in Rotorua, and spent much of his twenties guiding a young rangatahi - an experience he describes as profoundly rewarding.
When he started his digital marketing agency in 2019, David wanted to create a way for his business to give back on a larger scale.
And so, Bowls & BBQ was born!
